How can I make a dummy payment via mpesa to test a transaction on pesapal demo site? Is it possible? Regards |

If you check just below the complete button for the demo Iframe when you have selected MPESA you will see a link to a demo MPESA Code generator. You can use the same for all mobile money payment methods URL: demo.pesapal.com/mobilemoneytest |

When the iframe loads(the page with the payment options), you should see the message below: *Please NOTE that this is a TEST or DEMO website. Mobile transactions done here do not require you to send real money using your mobile phone! You may click here to send dummy mobile money for test and demo purposes. If the message above doesn't show below the page then you are using our live API. Check out this link: developer.pesapal.com/forum/6-announceme...andbox-is-introduced .It explains how to switch between live and demo APIs. The link within the text is similar to the one Mark has provided. Fill in the amount and phone number. Ignore the reference number. |

Hi Lazro,
I have corrected it to the demo settings and the message for dummy payment actually appears at the iframe. However,when I make a dummy payment,it doesn't reflect on my pesapal demo account transaction...or is it not supposed to appear? |

Hi Thomas,
The transaction should appear in your demo merchant account. I believe the issue is in your buyer account, right? It may not show up because on demo you are yet to confirm your mobile number. However, we do not send notifications in our demo system hence you will not be able to verify your mobile number. There is a way around this, for the transaction to appear in your buyer account, provide the buyer's email address among the data sent to pesapal. This way, demo PesaPal will actually match the transaction to the buyer's account. Note that this only happens on demo.pesapal.com. When using the live system, you will be required to input a verification code to verify the mobile number in use actually belongs to you. Once this is verified, any mobile payment made (even without providing the email address among the data sent to PesaPal) will automatically be matched to the buyer account. |

I think this is my issue as well, as I can't seem to simulate payments -- nothing appears in my Transactions History in my demo Business account.
1) I created a demo buyer account on demo.pesapal.com using my email address. I am not in Kenya but was able to add a valid +254 phone number to my demo buyer account. 2) I can successfully create orders using the same demo email and phone used with my buyer account. I get back instructions to "Send 200 KES to 220220 via MPesa". 3) When I go to demo.pesapal.com/mobilemoneytest and send a fake MPesa payment using the same phone from my demo buyer account (step 1) and my reference number (step 2). I get back success "Confirmation Code: KA67QP551. Your M-Pesa test mobile transaction to 220220 was successful! Reference: KTEZZj8MvfLyQeKvn, Phone Number: xxxxx, Registered Name: Test Sender, Amount: 200" ...but the amount never appears in the Transactions History in my demo Business account. |

Have you completed the payment? Find below the M-pesa payment instructions:
Kindly confirm if you followed step number 8 and 9. Basically without this, no transaction has been made, you've just sent money to our paybill number but you are yet to make the actual payment to the specific merchant. |

Hello lazro,
I am not in Kenya and cannot use MPesa. Hence my need to use: demo.pesapal.com/mobilemoneytest ...which seems like a way to simulate someone completing the transaction using MPesa. |

Step 1 to 7 is simulated by the mobilemoneytest function which gives you a dummy confirmation code like the example you shared (KA67QP551). Instead of doing a real mobile money payment, we've provided the link you shared to simulate the payment. You'll then need to use the dummy confirmation code to complete the payment as per the instructions on steps 8 and 9. Without this your dummy payment is a hanging payment in our system. PesaPal will not know whom you were paying. |

When you clicked the link with the mobile money simulator, it opened the simulator in a new tab (the page you've shared), leaving the original page with the instruction on a different tab. Go back to the original tab (that contains the iframe with the m-pesa payment instructions and other payment options) and complete the payment as per step 8 and 9.
