Okay peeps !! I have been going in circles trying to understand how the listener works with no avail. In my code, the details for the transaction are sent to the db from the redirect page. If the status by then is PENDING, then it stores to this database as that. But even though i have specified the ipn-listener, it does not change the db after the transaction has completed. Anyone with a sign from God ???!!
