Hi,
I have a subscription for health care users whereby they pay a monthly fee for subscription to our services. However, most of our users do not have access to internet and do not even know how to use it. But they have and use MPESA on a daily basis. We have an application in which we interact with them via SMS. They will have to pay a subscription via MPESA on a monthly basis. I want the workflow to be like this.
My question is, what code should I post to pesapal to assign the mpesa payment to my account after the users have smsed the confirmation code? |

Hi,
Maybe I should make myself a bit more clear. I have followed the step by step guide for pesapal. My question is at the junction of the Iframe. In this case I will not be displaying an Iframe, I will only be appending the users phone number and their confirmation code. How should that be received by Pesapal? What should I call it? Should I append it to the xml and call it confirmation code? Kind Regards |

Greetings chibex,
PesaPal has two types of payments:
Online Payments For this, you need to integrate PesaPal on your online payment system. Your clients will have to have internet access to make payments online. With this option, you can receive payments via mobile money and cards. Each payment option has it's own unique set of instructions which the client has to follow to the end. Offline Payments For this, you are required to contact our sales team ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. ) who will help you apply for a 4 digit short code. Once the 4 digit code is issued. Clients can make offline payments without having internet. Basically, you will share the 4 digit code to them and all the client needs to do is go to their mobile money option, key in our business number (220220) and under account number they key in your 4 digit code + some unique identifier you give them (eg, an account number). Once they have entered the business number, account number , amount and completed the payment on their phones, the transaction will automatically be assigned to your business. The 4 digit code is used to identify whom the client was sending money to. |

Thanks Lazaro for taking my headache away.
I guess, the business will still receive an sms confirmation to confirm the transaction? Regards |

Or you could build an app connected to an SMS gateway where the users register by SMS eg Joseph Kamau # Male # Kiambu or you can do so by entering their details into your system. Once they are in your sys then they can send the MPesa confirmation code after paying to pesapal to your number ..0701.., the sys would recognize them by their registration details i.e match the phone of the sender, pick the same use this in the IPN and then if need be send as an SMS back confirming to have recieved the payment.
